Yesterday (13th December) I saw something which I found quite funny in a pet shop window. It was a poster and on it it read a 'free hamster with every cage.'

Christmas time

Christmas time
Christmas time is final here,
You don't have to wait any more.
Look up in the sky and who might you see,
Father Christmas with no law.

My tree looks lovely,
And presents under my tree.
Everybody looks at those,
And i say they are all for me!

Cards are all my house,
With all different things on them.
I look at my presents,
And I see a gem.

Wow who would give me a gem,
I thought they must be really great.
Slowly I read the label,
And I see it is my mate.

Merry Christmas it says,
And i say it to you.

Day Closure by Brian Moses

We had a day closure on Monday
and I spent the morning in bed,
but the teachers went in as usual
and someone taught them instead.

And I thought of them all in the classroom
stuck to their seats in rows,
some of them sucking their pen lids,
the maths teacher scratching his toes.

Perhaps it's like an MOT
to check if teachers still know
the dates of our kings and queens
and the capital of so and so.

Perhaps they would of have tables and spellings,
did the head give them marks out of ten?
And then, if they got any wrong,
did he make them learn them again?

I thought of them at break time
playing football or kiss chase or tag,
picking teams in the playground
or scoffing crisps from a bag.

If I'd been a fly on the wall
I might have watched wile they slaved,
I'd have seen who asked silly questions
or if anyone misbehaved.

I thought of them all going home,
crossing the road to their mums.
They looked very grim the next day.
It couldn't have been that much fun!

100 word challenge

I looked at the clock. From my calculations, something would happen inside the box, in precisely eight minutes and seventeen seconds. A radioactive bomb, a tracking device disguised as an ipod, a mobile phone with a phone tap installed, were just some of the the things that I could imagine, the QUICK-TAP operation would throw at us. However I (and some of my team guarding the building,) were ready for it. The clock ticked, like a timer in my ear, as I started to brace myself for a possible explosion. Tick- tock, tick-tock, tick- tock, although there was no explosion.
